Once upon a time, there was a French-born guy who came to Monterey to teach French at the Defense Language Institute, where he was awarded the Coin of the Commandant *. After teaching he attended the Ferrandi Pastry School in Paris-France** to perfect the baking skills he learned from his mother. Upon his return to the Monterey Peninsula, family and friends encouraged him to share his baked goods with the community. Thus “French-Baker” was born.
